Below are our guidelines for designating your beneficiares:

  • The full name, address, and date of birth of each beneficiary must be listed.
  • A clearly specified percentage of the benefit amount must be allocated to each individual beneficiary.
    • Fractions, Decimals and Dollar amounts will not be accepted.
  • The total percentage allocated to all Primary Beneficiaries must equal exactly 100 percent.
  • Contingent Beneficiary(ies) is the person or people selected to receive the benefit if the Primary Beneficiary(ies) is not alive at the time of your death.
    • If Contingent Beneficiaries are designated, the total percentage allocated to all Contingent Beneficiaries must equal exactly 100 percent.
  • If both Primary and Contingent Beneficiaries are listed, each must be clearly labeled.
  • What happens if you have multiple primary beneficiaries, and one dies?
    • If a Primary Beneficiary dies before the policyholder, the deceased beneficiary's share is typically divided equally among all of the remaining Primary Beneficiaries. If no Primary Beneficiaries are left, the benefit is then paid to any named Contingent Beneficiaries. If there are no Primary or Contingent Beneficiaries, the asset will likely go to the policyholder's estate.
    • Per stirpes: Distributes a deceased beneficiary's share to their descendants. This is useful if you want to ensure a specific family line continues to receive benefits, even if the original beneficiary is no longer living.
  • If a Trust is designated (unless it is a Testamentary Trust), the full name of the Trust, the date the Trust was established, and the full name and address of the Trustee and Successor Trustee, must be listed. Alternately, a copy of the title page of the Trust, the page naming the trustees, and the signature page may be provided.
  • If a child is designated, a delay in awarding the benefit may occur if the child is a minor and no guardian has been appointed.
    • The Custodian named for a minor child can be a trusted relative, partner, friend, legal representative, or other adult and cannot also be your Primary Beneficiary.

You will need your Meyer and Associates account number to register. You can find your 10-digit account number on:

  • Your Individual Schedule of Benefits that accompanied the Certificate of Insurance (Account Number)
  • Your Insurance Premium Notice (Account Number)
  • Email or written correspondence from Meyer and Associates

Please note that "156129" is not your Meyer and Associates account number.

When registering your portal account you should use an email account that only you have access to. It should not be an email account that is shared with others. Also, if you are using "plus addressing" make sure your inbox is not accessible by anyone else. In short:

  • A secure email account with a strong password
  • An email account that no one else has access to

Meyer and Associates is committed to safeguarding your data and maintaining the highest standards of security. We have implemented a security enhancement to our Customer Portal login process through the introduction of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

Users will be prompted to verify their identity with their typical password and via MFA (a security code will be sent to the email address on file).

When registering or resetting your password you will be required to enter a password that must be at least 10 characters long and meet three of these four requirements:

  • A lowercase letter
  • An uppercase letter
  • A number
  • A special character

Additionally, it cannot start or end with a space or contain numeric elements of your birthday.

If you've forgotten your password you can request a password reset. If your account is currently locked out you must wait until the lockout period has expired (usually 5 minutes) before requesting a password reset.

If you received an email notice for a password reset, and you did not request the reset, rest assured that your account is secure. The reset request is only sent to the email address registered to your portal account.

When your password is reset you will receive a separate email notifying you that the reset request has been completed.

After repeated failed login attempts your account will be temporarily locked out, usually for a period of 5 minutes. Continued failed login attempts while your account is locked out will extend the lockout period.

If you cannot remember your password you can request a password reset, but not while your account is locked out.

If your account is locked out three times within a 24 hour period, without an intervening successful login, your account will be locked out until you contact our Customer Service department.

Your portal account has been disabled because you requested that we remove your email address from our system.
